When the people of Munich talk about traditional hospitality, they are certainly referring to the “Schneider Weisse” inn in the city centre. This inn is a Munich institution and the cradle of Schneider Weisse.
Here they are united: the highest level of “Excellent Bavarian Cuisine” and the “Excellent Beer Culture”, both official seals of Bavarian pleasure culture. “Hardly any award could fit better to us”, says the managing director of the traditional restaurant Otmar Mutzenbach.
A speciality of the house is crown meat (diaphragm of beef, veal or pork), which is served with fresh horseradish. But the other innards are also used with pleasure: Münchner Voressen” gathers sweet and sour prepared veal and pork lungs as well as tripe and veal sweetbread with bread dumplings on a plate. But even those who don’t like innards won’t leave the Schneider Bräuhaus hungry. On the menu everyone will find something between knuckle of pork, Bavarian classics, crunchy salads and even vegan dishes. All dishes are prepared without exception with fresh, regional products. Whether meat, fish, eggs, vegetables or potatoes, everything is sourced from local suppliers with whom the inn cooperates closely.
